Total eclipse of the heart

The Eclipse triangle : Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner

It’s been six months since the last Twilight series movie hit cinemas. Teenagers (and their mothers and grandmothers and me and my friends ... OK everybody) all around the world kept waiting and waiting for the new installment of the saga. „Eclipse“ is not out until next Wednesday but the US premiere has already took place with the entire cast in attendance.

I was so excited to see what would Kristen Stewart wear to the big event since her few last outfits were pretty amazing. And she didn’t dissapoint this time either. Kristen wore a beautiful, white Elie Saab 2009 couture dress. She paired her outfit with high heels from Christian Louboutin. The rest of the cast impressed as well. It looked like the „Eclipse“ actresses chose either Elie Saab or Marchesa. Besides Ms. Stewart, Dakota Fanning wore another dress from the designer, while Marchesa was a Nikki Reed’s and Anna Kendrick’s choice. The girls looked amazing. This time I also must say some great things about Rob Pattinson, who made a huge statement with his Gucci suit. Bravo! Cannot wait to see the movie, it’s being recommended for being the best one so far from the whole series. I must admit I liked this book most from the first three so hopefully the movie will be as equally good. The cast is apparently shooting „Breaking Dawn“ starting next week but it won’t be out until 2011. For now let’s enjoy „Eclipse“ and some great red carpet moments from the cast.

Dream on ... Alexander McQueen's purple dress

Some might ask what is the fuss about? But this LPD (Little Purple Dress) is definitely one of the stars from the pre - fall collections. Late Alexander McQueen – the designer of the dress – still stays on the top. This angular-shouldered crepe dress was first worn by ex – Spice Girl Emma Bunton at Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards. The singer looked beautiful, very girly but at the same time very aware of her womanly looks. Last night actress Salma Hayek was another one to put on McQueen’s purple dress to “The Late Show with David Letterman” and she as well looked stunning. I believe there is something about this dress that could make every women look amazing. God McQueen knew what he was doing while designing it. The drape on the dress and covered up shoulders would make each and every woman look slimmer. This is a perfect choice for a woman with some real curves. I know, I would love to get one. It costs €1,295 at net-a-porter.com and just today all the sizes besides 44 are available again (last night there were almost all sold out). So if you want to dress to impress and can affor it I’d say go for it and make it yours.

I'd like a latte

I cannot imagine a day without a latte. This perfect combination of black coffee and milk. O God I need some caffeine now! At the moment it looks like the fashion world is thinking the same since coffee latte color has become one of the most popular ones this season. It’s all started with actress Maggie Gyllenhaal, when she wore a nude beige Yves Saint Laurent gown to the Opera play in New York City last April. After Maggie's YSL dress statement, other brands followed. Chanel made its contribution to the hottest color trend by presenting Inattendu – a nail polish from Le Vernis collection , which quickly became one of the ‘its’ colors of the spring/summer 2010 season. Now let's talk about shoes. I’d love to get get those nude Christian Louboutin Décolleté 100 pumps. They cost €395 at net-a-porter.com but still are worth every penny! Oh latte, now it looks like I need more than one.

20th Birthday Men Dolce & Gabbana anniversary

Dolce and Gabbana with Juliette Binoche

Last Saturday after their show in Milano, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana threw a party to celebrate their 20th anniversary of men’s collections. The event took place at the Palazzo Marino where many famous designers’ friends have arrived. Some of them were Juliette Binoche, Rachel Weisz, Matthew McConaughey with Camila Alves. The singer of the evening was Annie Lenox, who is apparently one of the D&G’s favourite. The guests were mostly wearing black, some of them of course in Dolce and Gabbana collections from spring and fall 2010. Below you can see the pictures of the attendees and Gentleman D&G themselves.

Dream on ... Sienna Miller's monogrammed Keepall from LV

There should be no surprise that whenever Sienna has something, I fall totally in love it that too. It’s been like that for 5 years now, so why stop now ;) This is the first time that I’ve seen Sienna with her Louis Vuitton’s Keepall travel bag so I believe it could be a new addition to her collection. The monogrammed bag has Sienna’s initials on a red stripe. The strip colors and the position of it on a bag is all a choice made by a costumer.
The personalization of LV baggage and travel bags is a big part of Louis Vuitton’s history with people getting them for few decades now. I remember watching old movies and wanting badly to own a huge luggage bag like Katherine Hepburn had. At the moment I’m more looking forward to owning a classic 30 Speedy that I could use for ages and it would never be out of fashion. But the moment I’ve seen Sienna’s Keepall I knew that one day I’ d have to get one for my own.

The bags are available at louisvuitton.com where you can choose from 3 kinds of shapes, different sizes and colors. I went to LV’s online store and was playing with making my own personalized Vuittons. You can see them below. I was wondering whether I could maybe get a personalized Speedy but I'm not sure whether it would look good. What you all think?
Keepall just like Sienna's (only with my initials) and Speedy 30:

Keepall 45 with shoulder strap  - 970 pounds

 Speedy 30 - 610 pounds

Magnificent Obsession - US VOGUE July 2010

Ok, so I really like Natalia Vodianova. I think she’s one of the best models out there. I truly admire her life story, how much she’s achieved, especially since her start wasn’t that easy due to her bad financial situation at home in Russia. But that life seems like ages ago since she’s now a supermodel, her man is a prince and she has adorable kids. But today when I’ve seen those pictures from July issue of US Vogue for a moment I honestly thought I might stop liking her. She’s playing house with Ewan McGregor, MY Ewan McGregor let me add (lol), so you can imagine my shock and disbelief. Still I’ve decided to look at the photographs taken by great Peter Lindbergh from a professional perspective since I am obviously an open minded journalist.
Despite the obvious jealousy, I really love those photographs. They have this ‘Mad Men’ 60s vibe that just wants you to start your family immediately. Everybody is looking great, the parents and the kids are at their finest. It all looks perfect but underneath this cover, there is a totally different story. We see a jealous husband, his wife meeting another man and we start to wonder whether this family is as perfect as it seems. I love when pictures can show stories like that, when a photographer is able to explore and show something more than just a pretty face in a pretty dress. This photo shoot proves that it can be done. Hat off to Mr. Lindbergh for showing us this beautiful story.
